• In these challenging times, a message from your Board of Stewards. Our March meeting was held as scheduled. However, circumstanced dictated that we meet virtually. Isn’t technology wonderful! When our movements and ability to physically connect are disrupted, we can still interact. This is especially important for the Board to ensure that we are connecting to conduct the business of the church.

  • When we look at current headlines, the common theme we often see is fear. It’s important to address safety and preparedness with the public health concerns involved with COVID-19 and we need to do so in an informed manner that leads us to peace. Finding peace in everyday life can be hard and many people seek peace through the church. The Bible calls us to “cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7) and “let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts” (Colossians 3:15). We want Alamo Heights United Methodist Church to be a place of safety, comfort, and peace when you may have trouble finding it elsewhere.

  • The Board of Stewards met on Thursday, February 20. It was the first opportunity for the 2020 Board to gather in the standard meeting format to address current issues and look forward to the staff plans for the coming year. This was also the Board’s opportunity to interact with more of the staff in an effort to create greater connectivity.
